Plarn Crochet Slipper07 e1344238452811 Plarn Crochet Slippers

I made these Plarn Slippers using my Free Chunky Crochet Slipper Pattern.

I am not going to go over the whole pattern in this post.  The only differences between these slippers and the t-yarn slippers, apart from the textile, is that these ones have a double sole and a button closure.

So if you just need those two things clarified, read on.  If you need a bit more help – as in a photo walk through of the whole pattern – then please see my T-yarn (Tarn) Slipper Tutorial HERE.

These slippers have been made with Tesco 2-ply Plarn cut into 1cm wide loops.

Click HERE to see how to cut and join your plarn loops really quickly.  Already know how to cut your loops, but fed up with the time it takes to join all those pesky loops?  Then go straight to the video tutorial on how to join your plarn loops at lightning speed.  If the first bit of the video bores you – I mean it IS like watching paint dry – skip to the end of it to see the how-to.

Double Layer Soles (Make 4)

  1. Ch 15.
  2. Sc in 2nd ch from hook and in next 5 st’s.  Hdc.  Dc in next 5. Dc Inc.  Work 4 x Dc’s in last st of chain.  Continuing around:  Dc inc through both loops of initial ch.  Dc in next 5 st’s.  Hdc.  Sc in next 5 st’s.  Sc inc in last st.  Do not turn your work.  You can place a st marker if you want a visual confirmation that the next round has been worked correctly.  (34)
  3. Hdc inc in 1st 2 st’s.  Hdc in next 11 st’s.  Hdc inc in next 7.  Hdc in next 12 st’s.  Hdc inc in last 2 st’s.

For 2 of the soles:  Sc in next st.  Sl st in the next st.  Ch 1 and bind off.

Now take one of the bound-off soles and one of the other soles and place them together with
right sides facing out.  Working through both layers:

*sc inc, sc* x 2. (You will work the first sc inc into the 3d st from the sl st of the bound-off sole).

  1. Don’t these make your feet sweat?

    • Dedri Uys says:

They actually don’t, Pamela. But I live in England and have not had the chance to wear them in a heatwave yet – although it’s not something I think I want to try. They are really comfy and I have yet to get sweaty feet from them x
